Network Airsoft Founder Matt Jones

Hi everyone, I'm Matt Jones the founder/creator/geek behind Network Airsoft. I created Network Airsoft to join the global airsoft community together. Airsoft is somewhat fragmented over the Internet in forums aimed at specific countries. I created Network Airsoft to be the place for airsofters from all over the world to socialize, sell, trade, blog, review and everything else you can do online about airsoft.

I've been running the Cheap-Ass Airsoft Guns blog for over 6 months, it recently was bought by a new owner who sadly seems to neglect it. I also own Airsoft Store Online, which has various airsoft articles.

A bit about me

I'm from the UK and I discovered airsoft a number of years ago. My first airsoft gun was a terrible £15 desert eagle pistol which came with 800 BBs. On the day I got it I fired almost all of the 800 BBs at various household items but to my dismay when I woke up the next morning the gun had jammed and broke permanently. I learned the harsh lesson that cheap airsoft guns are often not the best way to go!

My second airsoft gun was the CYMA 0.27 mp5j. This was a big step up from my little desert eagle and set me back about £100 ($200) and I have to say it was worth it. That CYMA 0.27 mp5j has lasted me through many airsoft games and my love of airsoft has grown from there on out.

I hope you enjoy network airsoft! Do drop me a llne and say hello :)

A few commonly asked questions about Network Airsoft

What are Network Airsoft badges?
Network Airsoft badges are there for you to embed in your myspace/bebo profiles. They can be embeded on pretty much any page on the web and are a great way to display your great hobby!

What sort of stuff should I put on my profile?
Make your profile your own. Let us all know how you got into airsoft, your first airsoft gun, what other airsoft gear you have - just to name a few ideas.

What are Squad Profiles?
Airsofters often play together with the same group people. It can be great fun to form an airsoft squad and even compete in an airsoft tournament. If you have a squad be sure to make a Network Airsoft profile for it and fill it out with photos and details of your squad.

What kind of stuff can I post on my blog?
  • Reviews of your airsoft guns
  • Stories about your last airsoft game
  • Airsoft Photos/YouTube videos
  • Promote your gun sales. If you have an airsoft gun up for sale in the forum or are looking for an airsoft gun a good way to get some extra attention is to post about it on your blog as well.
  • Anything else about airsoft you would like to share!

What should I post in the forum?
All the usual airsoft chat. The forum is for discussions and buying/selling.

What is "being featured"?
Being featured is when something you post to your blog or a discussion your start in the forum is discovered by a moderator and pinned up on the Homepage. Our mods will feature anything of substance, be it a hot forum topic or a nice detailed airsoft gun review.

Network Airsoft Now Has Groups And Events!

A number of Network Airsofts members said they wanted it to be easier to find local airsofters to arrange battles with. We added the Events feature to make this easier and have now added Groups too.

Now you can create (or join) a group named to attract airsofters that live near by you and arrange the details of the next battle. Once the details are sorted it can be posted as an Event.

Please search the Groups before creating one to make sure there isn't already a group for it.

Announcement: English Writing Only

As you all know Network Airsoft is open to everyone from all over the globe, which presents a problem regarding languages (making sure everyone understands each other!). While of course we want everyone together, a big jumble of languages wouldn't be good for anyone.

Please understand this rule is for the good of the community and English is the main language simply because that is what the majority of the members speak. Also our moderators only speak English so we could not spot foreign abuse… Continue

Matt, thought you might want a heads up on the Store link... it seems to be defaulting to a folder with a list of personal files (including someone's missionary farewell talk and a talk by Elder Ballard ;) )
